The purpose of this CoBi UK ride is not only to raise funds using the new MyProjects portal but also to raise awareness about the work that the charity performs in the UK. To do this we will visiting the research centres and institutes listed below along our way, finding out what they are researching and the what impact this has had in the fight against cancer.
Event organizer Ed Grieg writes: “Unlike a normal Land’s End to John O’Groats ride, we want as many people to take their turn at the pedals as possible. For the difficult inter-city sections we are recruiting more hard-core cyclists and are adapting the bike to cope with some of the steep hills. To this end we are fitting harnesses to the front of the bike, we’re lowering the gearing and adding hybrid pedals so cycle shoes can be worn.” Want to get involved?
